scheme='http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#' term='Steps to make your own website'/>
Steps to make your own website

1. Before you start to make a website, identify the market first. What kinds of people anyway who would read each of your website ideas serve? Many websites, like Google, MSN or Yahoo, are as general as they gets, while other websites, serve a specific bunch. Writing down every market target next to each of the ideas on your own list. Conduct some market researches. Who will be your audiences? What will they do? How old they are? Any other interests? All of those information might help you to make more useful website for you.

2. Try to figure your willing to work. How many times and cash are you willing to invest into your site? You can start and run a website for free, but the more money you want to make from your site, the more time and money you'll have to invest. If you do not care too much about making money (like if you're just interested in showing off your dried bug collection) you can get away with free web hosting and sporadic maintenance.
- Less investment required by content sites, but you're gonna facing a lot of competitors, cause every one can make a content web. Making money from content site, you should provide articles and make money from the web's traffic and you'll get them from ads.
- Selling products using an e-commerce sites, You're gonna need a lot maintenance activity and also more attention. You'll be need to think of goods shipping, order form security, sales, inventory updating, and anything else.

3. Now, do some keyword research to determine if other people are searching for your website topics and learn more about your potential clients. There are many free keyword tools to help you get more information about your topic. You will need to find keywords that are in demand (people are looking for it) yet have some chance of finding your site. Like a site on web hosting is too broad of a topic. Forum webhosting is a little better (narrower) topic.

4. Don't forget for narrowing down the list. Which are the ideas that stand to give you the most profits? Which one requiring commitment? This is very time consuming work for a website.

5. It's always be a good idea to sell other people's products which will let you make money without investing in any products or worrying about shipping.

6. Next is research for online web making services. You learn HTML or CSS code, but you can use software for desktop publishing.

7. You have to register a domain name (one that's easy to remember and spell) and choose a web host (althought you can get a free domain name).
The best domain name also includes your main keywords and some variation of what solution you provide. You can use a domain availability tool to find an available domain name. For more complicated websites, be willing to shell out the extra bucks; or, you can opt for a free web hosting, which will probably mean having a URL like www.yourdomain.webhostname.com and have ads all over your website.

8. Start to make your own website. Right here you get some different options :
- Learn a programming language (or two, or three) and build a website from scratch.
- Buy a web building software and build em by yourself.
* Scripting languages (VB Script or Python, ASP with JavaScript or PHP) can be used. They can even help for storing any information on people that visiting your web too, such as setting, username even some "shopping carts" for temporary in a commercial websites.
* Wordpress also a great option too for making a web. It's a free open source application you can be install on your server. You can make update and organize contents easily.
* HTML code is very easy to learn, and if you willing to learn, you can decor your website design in any way you wanna be.
* XHTML is the new web language set by W3C's standards. Almost identical to HTML, it follows a stricter set of rules for marking up information - what this means, for the most part, is minor changes to the way you write code.
* CSS, which stands for "Cascading Style Sheets", gives more flexibility for styling the HTML.
* A browser sided scripting language, such as JavaScript, allows you to make your page interactive.

- You can hire a web professional designer. Great option for making more advanced websites such as e-commerce webs.

9. The next step is upload your website. Your web host may have an FTP feature, or you can download your own FTP program like FileZilla. If you hired a professional to design the website, he or she may take care of this for you.

10. You should consider to use keywords for your target audience to get search engine rankings. There are somany available tools from Google Adwords, Overture Keywords Checker and software that can help you doing the keyword research easier.

11. Advertising your website. Submit your site to major search engines. Tell your friends. Use an e-mail address with your domain. Visit other websites that complement (not compete with) yours, and offer to exchange links. Post constructively on blogs and forums, and put your URL in your signature.

12. Test your website. Soon as you finish to make your website, do visibility test. Ask your family or friends to use your web. Give em some task such "editing profile" or "buying goods." Sit and watch them using your site and navigating around. Don't give them any help. This step will make you to know which pages or links should be improved.

13. It's better providing a high quality contents and services too. Take seriously any constructive comment and feedback. Think about your web visitor's needs, things that makes them frustrated, circumstances, and try to make them get an easier lives.

14. Use article marketing to get back links to your website which will also help your website get found by the search engines.

15. Do SEO trick. To help your website ranks well on the search engine you have to implement some SEO trick.

TIPS ON MAKING A WEBSITE

- People are often in a hurry. This means that you may only have between 10 and 30 seconds to capture your visitor's attention. To minimize your load time, keep graphics small. Compress them where possible. Use flashy technology JavaScript, Flash, Streaming Audio/Video, etc. sparingly and only if it is important to your presentation.
- If you intend to sell a product on your website, you will need to be able to accept secure credit card payments. You can apply for a merchant account, which charges a per-transaction fee, or use a free payment service like PayPal.
- Before beginning to read a tutorial, make sure it is the best of the best; you do not want to find half way through that the tutorial's flawed or putting you to sleep. You do not want to have to read the same content over again in a good tutorial, do you? So look into lots of search engine results before picking your tutorial!
- Find popular websites, even if they do not have much to do with yours, and use them as models. What are they doing right? Incorporate what you learn from the big shots into your own website. Don't be a copycat, but don't re-invent the wheel.
- If you hire a professional to code a complicated site, remember that programmers are not all graphic designers. The most eye-catching sites out there have been made by or with the input of someone involved in graphic design. Programmer also does not usually know much about search engine optimization and getting your website to the top of Google. Try to find someone who does know that or you can learn on your own too.
- Create a REAL website. A lame boring website would not do any good! Make it want to attract the people that will bring traffic to your website.
- Begin with simple things, practice them and then advance, even if what you create is not very impressive at the time; do not attempt to rush through the tutorials in one. You need to understand them very well, so take your time and test things out. If you wonder whether or not something will work, don't suppress the urge, but find out.

Make a blog or website ?

Blogs are another kind of website. The content is usually organized by date and category with the most recent post/content displaying first.

Blogs are also easier to setup than websites, and because of this reason people are often lured into thinking blogs are a better option than websites.

But don't be fooled.

That doesn't mean they are easier to promote, build traffic and generate a profit (if that's your goal).

Both websites and blogs require work, patience, an understanding of Internet marketing and search engine optimization (the process of getting ranked high in Google, Yahoo, etc.)

So please don't go into this thinking that creating a blog is an easier way to make money online. Even bloggers making a lot of money have put in their share of time and effort.

Another thing you should know is that blogs can be somewhat limiting compared to a website (in terms of design and data manipulation) until you learn more about how blogs are coded.

However, if you use WordPress, you'll have the flexibility to do so much with your blog's content and layout. (More on that in a sec.)

Blog or Website? Can't Decide?

A lot of people get confused and wonder if they should create a blog, website or both?

Watch the video below to get my take on the subject.

WordPress? Blogger? Which is Best?

WordPress and Blogger are hands down the two most popular blogging platforms. I honestly see no reason to consider any of the others.

I started with Blogger, but when I started learning about the flexibility WordPress provided, I switched over in December 2007 and I'm so glad I did.

Blogger is great because it's super easy to use. However, WordPress has a lot more features and plug-ins that will allow you to enhance your blog.

And even though setting up a WordPress blog is slightly more involved, it's well worth it in the long run.

Remotely Hosted Blog or Self Hosted Blog?

Remotely Hosted

There are two ways to host a blog. The first way is to remotely host it-- which means your content/files literally sit on the server of the blogging platform (WordPress.com, Blogger.com, etc.)

There's always a risk involved with doing it this way because if Blogger or WordPress decide to shut your blog down (for whatever reason), you would lose all your content.

It also doesn't look as professional to have a blog address like http://yourblog.blogspot.com or http://yourblog.wordpress.com. And if you want to make money, first impressions mean a lot.

For the record, I don't endorse remotely hosted blogs. I think hosting is so cheap these days that it's worth spending a few extra dollars to own your content and have a real blog address like http://yourblog.com -- especially if you want to make money.

Self Hosted

With a self hosted blog, all your content sits on the hosting account that you own. Your blog address is more professional and easy to remember because you can have a true domain like http://yourblog.com.

How to make your own website

The right place to learn on how to make a website
That is right this is the right place for you to learn how to make a website.
The site is open to the public, you will be able to see every content of this site and you can join and ask any question you would like to ask there.
If you are interested in learning how to make a website you don't need to join the list of people who receive the newsletter every week to learn exactly how to become involve with any other sites.

You do not have to be an Internet marketer to join this site; it is okay if you have never even had your own website before.
HTML links

This example demonstrates how to create links in an HTML document.

Open a link in a new browser window

This example demonstrates how to link to another page by opening a new window, so that the visitor does not have to leave your Web site.

Hyperlinks, Anchors, and Links
In web terms, a hyperlink is a reference (an address) to a resource on the web.

Hyperlinks can point to any resource on the web: an HTML page, an image, a sound file, a movie, etc.
An anchor is a term used to define a hyperlink destination inside a document.

The HTML anchor element , is used to define both hyperlinks
and anchors.

We will use the term HTML link when the element points to a resource, and the term HTML anchor when the elements defines an address inside a document..

An HTML Link
Link syntax:

Link text
The start tag contains attributes about the link.

The element content (Link text) defines the part to be displayed.
Note: The element content doesn't have to be text. You can link

from an image or any other HTML element.

The href Attribute
The href attribute defines the link "address".

This element defines a link to my blog:

Visit
My Blog!

The code above will display like this in a browser:
Visit My Blog!

The target Attribute

The target attribute defines where the linked document will be opened.
The code below will open the document in a new browser window:

Example
Visit My Blog

The name Attribute
When the name attribute is used, the element defines a named anchor inside a HTML document.

Named anchor are not displayed in any special way. They are invisible to the reader.

Named anchor syntax:
Any content

The link syntax to a named anchor:
Any content

The # in the href attribute defines a link to a named anchor.

Example:
A named anchor inside an HTML document:

Useful Tips Section

A link to the Useful Tips Section from the same document:

Jump to the Useful Tips Section
A link to the Useful Tips Section from another document:

Jump to the Useful Tips Section

Basic Notes - Useful Tips
Always add a trailing slash to subfolder references. If you link like this: href="http://howtomakeafreewebsiteeasy.blogspot.com/", you will generate two HTTP requests to the server, because the server will add a slash to the address and create a new request like this: href="http://howtomakeafreewebsiteeasy.blogspot.com/"

Named anchors are often used to create "table of contents" at the beginning of a large document. Each chapter within the document is given a named anchor, and links to each of these anchors are put at the top of the document.

If a browser cannot find a named anchor that has been specified, it goes to the top of the document. No error occurs.

How to make your website searchable

Making your website searchable is an important part after your website created and online. Unless you don't want anybody find it on the web ofcourse.

There is so many way to make your website searchable. You can do it by your self submitting your website address to the search engine and web directory or you might want to try an automated search engine submittions.

There is a lot of search engine nowaday. But this is the fact, submitting your website to google and yahoo would be more than enought. If your website indexed by google and yahoo that mean it will be indexed by altavista, msn and other search engine.

But it is necessary to get listed on the web directories and other sites since google and yahoo using link popularity for their algorithm.

Before we talk about link popularity
Here is the url for submit your website to google
http://www.google.com/addurl/?continue=/addurl

And this is the url for submiting to yahoo
https://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com/submit

Next step to make your website searchable

The next level to make a website being searchable is using some SEO techniques implemented to your web. SEO is the acronym for "search engine optimization (Search Engine Optimization) or" search engine optimizer "(Search Engine Optimizer), which gives us a series of clues and techniques to interpret the mode of operation search engines.
There is two major SEO techniques you should do. The first one is the onpage SEO and the other one is link popularity (offpage SEO).
On page SEO is how to optimize your web content to make the search engine know what is your site's content is about.

Here is you can do for onpage optimization :
1. Content
What users see vs. what are the search engines. Users can watch and / or read the website but search engines can only read the programming code with which they are developed and, even today, still can not read them all equally, for example, Flash has recently joined Google results but can not be optimized as HTML. Graphics, sounds and videos are part of a page that search engines can not decipher it is for this reason that the positioning work is based on HTML tags and text.

In conclusion, the main goal HTML tags to keep in mind for a good positioning are:

Title.
Before entering into any other theme or gimmick positioning is important to define the titles of our pages, which should make a brief reference to the content of the page to which you are assigning, taking care to include the most important word describe the page or section to which we refer.

Description.
Individual short description or abstract of the document as a meta tag that summarizes in a brief and concise content of the document and that may appear below the title in the "SERP's (search results pages of search engines.)

H1, H2, H3
Correspond to the holders of any websites, so that the text you include in this tag will be taken into account for the contents of the page. Its importance depends on the number that accompanies them, H1 being the most important and so on until H6. You should only use a single level page and not found much use beyond the H4.

The relevance of your website content
Relevance is an important point, this means that any word used in the title and meta tags of the page in question should be included within the text content of the page. It is noteworthy that some practices are penalized by search engines such as using hidden text and word lists.

The URL
You try to be as descriptive as possible and semantically also facilitate proper indexing of the document. As an example: www.nombreempresa.com / activity-main.html
To strengthen the content of the page and improve your position in search engines is important that labels view the URL above and have the same content.

Images
Are not read by search engines, but you can rename them or give them descriptive attributes to facilitate indexing. A picture of a cat whose name is "12345.jpg" is not very descriptive, but if you change it to "gato.jpg" and you're telling the search engines what is that picture. And you can add the ALT attribute, very important for accessibility of documents and for proper indexing, with a description of the photo, in this case ALT = "a gray cat," and that will also serve people with disabilities be aware of their visual content.

Outgoing links
They are also an important factor in the confidence that generates a site. Always try to add value to the user through the content with outbound links. Since your users can not navigate all the available web pages: Convert your reference page with unique content and a number of resources that extend and complement the information.

Sitemap
Finally, your site should include a file sitemap.xml , a map of your site to facilitate proper indexing by search engines.

2. Indexability

This concept refers to the ownership of the page to be properly indexed by search engine robots, allowing access to all corners, facilitating navigation and showing all its contents clearly.

Meta tags
The Meta Tags are code in the header is not visible on screen when displaying the page. There are several types of Meta-Tags and they do a description of the content and features we want that search engines take into account.

* Meta Robots : This tag is only necessary if you want that page is not indexed in search engines.
* Meta Description : This tag is important because it allows us to make a more profound than in the title, which we refer to the page content.
* Meta Keywords : Perhaps this one is no longer important for search engine, but you must use all the techniques to be successful.

3. Link popularity

Do you want your website to be more searchable on the internet ? Well, link popularity is the best part of SEO (especially for Google).

Definition: Link popularity refers to the number of links pointing to a page on the Web. A popular Web site tends to have large numbers of these backlinks, and obscure Web pages have very few.

Link popularity is a factor in determining PageRank, and PageRank is part of what is used to determine where pages are ranked in Google search results.

The more your site to be mature is the more your site to be popular. If you have a great content on it, than the link popularity will be grown by it self.

Define link

Define link (introduction to links and anchors)

Links are "buttons," or jumps, to other WWW documents. They may also take you to another section in the current WWW document. WWW documents may contain both textual and graphical links. Textual links are text which are emphazied by being a different color than the rest of the text, and may be underlined. Once a textual link is used, it will become another color, indicating it was used.

Graphical links are graphics which serve as links, or buttons, to other sections or documents. For example, the buttons on the left are graphical links. You can determine a graphical links two different ways. First, the mouse arrow will turn into a hand with a finger pointing towards the top of the screen. Graphcial links may also contain a colored "boxed" border arround it, which should be the same color as the textual links.

Introduction to links and anchors

HTML offers many of the conventional publishing idioms for rich text and structured documents, but what separates it from most other markup languages is its features for hypertext and interactive documents. This section introduces the link (or hyperlink, or Web link), the basic hypertext construct. A link is a connection from one Web resource to another. Although a simple concept, the link has been one of the primary forces driving the success of the Web.

A <dfn>link</dfn> has two ends -- called <dfn>anchors</dfn> -- and a direction. The link starts at the "source" anchor and points to the "destination" anchor, which may be any Web resource (e.g., an image, a video clip, a sound bite, a program, an HTML document, an element within an HTML document, etc.).

Visiting a linked resource

The default behavior associated with a link is the retrieval of another Web resource. This behavior is commonly and implicitly obtained by selecting the link (e.g., by clicking, through keyboard input, etc.).

The following HTML excerpt contains two links, one whose destination anchor is an HTML document named "chapter2.html" and the other whose destination anchor is a GIF image in the file "forest.gif":

...some text...

By activating these links (by clicking with the mouse, through keyboard input, voice commands, etc.), users may visit these resources. Note that the href<samp class="ainst"></samp> attribute in each source anchor specifies the address of the destination anchor with a URI.

The destination anchor of a link may be an element within an HTML document. The destination anchor must be given an anchor name and any URI addressing this anchor must include the name as its fragment identifier.

Destination anchors in HTML documents may be specified either by the <samp class="einst">A</samp> element (naming it with the name<samp class="ainst-A"></samp> attribute), or by any other element (naming with the <samp class="ainst">id</samp> attribute).

Thus, for example, an author might create a table of contents whose entries link to header elements <samp class="einst">H2</samp>, <samp class="einst">H3</samp>, etc., in the same document.

Making Cheap Website

There are many Web hosting services that will allow you to put your website on one of their servers for a fee. These servers are always connected to the Internet, so your website is always available.

Choosing a reliable, yet cheap website hosting can be one of the most important decisions you make for your online business and is not something that should be taken lightly. Hosting providers offer you different types of packages...

Free hosting is for fun. If you want to experiment with a site or put up a small, personal site for the fun of it, a free package will suffice. See Free Website Hosting.

Shared hosting is suitable in most cases. A few tens of sites are housed on one server. Choose it if you are serious about doing some business and want to have a professional website.

Dedicated hosting is typically used for sites that need to handle a high level of traffic, need a higher degree of security, or sites that run their own customized software. Choose it if you want to be the only user of that physical machine.

Web hosting services offer you the wide range of features. Be sure to focus on the essentials that are required to launch your website. Will you use all the nice extras? It's a good idea to choose an initially cheap website hosting and expand your plan as and when your site grows.

For example, you may not need a database solution now, but you may need one in the future. So, when choosing a host, keep in mind your possible future needs, and whether it will be able to accommodate them.

Cheap WebSite Hosting

Here are a few cheap hosting services (under $10 per month) to start...
  &amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;lt;div class="frm1"&amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;gt; Your browser doesn't support floating frames.&amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;lt;br&amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;gt; &amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;lt;a href="../resources/hosttable.html" target="_blank"&amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;gt;Click here too see the list of cheap website hosting providers&amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;lt;/a&amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;gt;. &amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;lt;/div&amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;gt;
In my opinion, the best inexpensive hosting deal for standard sites is IXWebHosting. They provide unlimited disk space and bandwidth, Site Studio website builder, free domain name, dedicated IP address and strong uptime guarantee.

For more details, see Resources: Inexpensive Web Hosting

To make a decision, you should understand all the basic features of hosting services. Below are the descriptions of them...

Disk space

This refers to the amount of hard disk space the provider sets aside for your exclusive use. Hard disk space is cheap these days. Even free accounts routinely offer 20-50MB of space. Most websites only use 2-3MB of space if they are not offering movies, sound, and files for download.

Transfer / Bandwidth

Bandwidth, traffic, data transfer refer to the same thing - the amount of data transferred to visitors as they view your Web pages. The vast majority (some estimates are as high as 99%) of the sites on the Web never come close to generating 2GB a month of traffic.

Some cheap website hosting services offer you a limited amount of transfer per month as part of your package and then charge you an extra fee for any traffic over your limit. Others offer unlimited bandwidth as part of your package. They know that most sites don't generate much traffic, and the odd site, one that is the exception to the rule, will be more than balanced by all their other customers.

If, however, your site becomes extremely popular and generates enormous traffic that swamps the provider's resources, it may force you to move or pay more by invoking an escape clause found in all contracts. The clause says that if you do something that "threatens" their operations, they can yank your service.

Another point to consider is that cheap website hosting services that offer unlimited traffic may actually attract more high bandwidth sites than the statistical norm. This could result in network congestion that will make your pages harder to reach or slow to load.

Subdomains

A subdomain is shown as subdomain.domain.ext, where domain.ext is the primary domain. A subdomain displays the default page located within any directory in your Web space.

Parked domains

One or more additional domains can point to your main domain. For example, you already have a hosting account and the domain name "domain.com." You may register "domain.net" and "domain.org" and park them to your main account, so that no matter which one you typed in, it would still go to the same site.

Add-on domains (domain pointers)

They allow you to share your disk space and bandwidth with more than one domain name. The additional domain name (pointer) can point to to a subdirectory of your main site, so the add-on domain can have its own home page and content.

FTP access

File Transfer Protocol (FTP) is used to transfer documents from your hard drive to a remote server. FTP is the easiest way to upload and download files between you and your Web host.

Dedicated IP address

Most cheap website hosting services host multiple domains on the same IP address. But it's recommended (not absolutely essential, just recommended) to get you unique (dedicated) IP address. If you don't have a dedicated IP, there is a small possibility that if other sites who share your IP address use dubious search engine positioning techniques, search engines may block all of the Web sites hosted on that IP address. This is the IP equivalent of bad neighborhoods.

So, when selecting a Web host, see whether they give you dedicated IP address. If it means that you have to pay a bit more for your hosting, the extra cost is worth it. See Articles: Dedicated IP hosting for more information.

POP3 email accounts

Even with cheap website hosting accounts, you usually get multiple email addresses. You can check your email using different email software packages from anywhere in the world. You can easily set up your email addresses or change them.

Catch All Email Address
Suppose, you get five email addresses with your hosting account, but what if someone emails you at an address that doesn't exist? With the catch-all email feature, anything that is emailed to your domain name is automatically forwarded to an email address that you specify.

Email Forwarding
Maybe you have a large number of email addresses and don't want to check all of them separately. With the email forwarding feature, you can forward all your incoming email to another email address that you specify.

Email Autoresponder
An autoresponder is a specific email address that has two functions. First, any user sending an email to that address will receive an automated response. Second, the original incoming message is forwarded to another specified email address.

Personal CGI directory

Almost all hosts allow you to have your own personal CGI (common gateway interface) directory where you can place your CGI scripts. CGI scripts are small programs on the server that can provide your site with interactivity.

Predefined CGI scripts

Almost all free and cheap website hosting providers give you access to centralized CGI scripts...

Counter
You may place a counter on your website so that you can count your visitors.

Form to Email
This is a form on your site that allows your visitors to contact you. The submitted information will be emailed to an address that you specify.

Guest Book
You may place a guest book on your site if you want to know who is visiting your site, and what their comments are about it.

Server Side Includes (SSI)

This is a group of functions that can be included directly in your HTML so that a server can include variable values in the HTML file before it sends it to the requester. SSI commands allow you to perform functions not available through HTML.

For example, with SSI you can include running CGI scripts and post the results on the Web page, embed the current time and date or the date of the last update, etc.

Detailed website statistics

Many cheap website hosting services provide all clients with detailed graphical site statistics. You can see how many people are visiting your site, what pages they are looking at, when they visit, and much more.

Access to raw log files

The log files store the information of all requests made to your website. They are the files used to calculate the site statistics. Having access to the raw log files allows you to download them for archiving and allows you to run your own statistics software package on your own computer so that you can get more detailed information about your visitors.

Frontpage extensions

Many hosts allow FrontPage extensions so that you can create and publish your site using Microsoft Frontpage without learning how to program.

Uptime guarantee

It's vitally important that your site is never inaccessible. Look for a host that offers a 99.5% or a 99.9% on-line guarantee.

This is important for both the search engines and your human visitors. If a search engine spider comes to visit your site when it's inaccessible, it's quite likely that it will drop your site from its index.

Additional features

Many cheap website hosting services offer an astounding array of additional features that go beyond the basic features. Some of them you may never use, and some will be must-haves.

For example, if you're building a store, you probably will need database services to update your catalog, secure pages (SSL) and digital certificates, a shopping basket program, and the ability to accept credit cards.

But if you're building a technical support site, the most important to you may be chat or forum software, the ability to post how-to movies for download or to stream them to your visitors, mailing lists, lots of email addresses, and password protected FTP transfers.

Price

You can get excellent or lousy hosting service for the same price. But finding value is not as simple as going with the cheapest package. Some of those cheap website hosting services get very pricey when you add not-so-optional services such as access to log files, password protection, or security. Conversely, some of those expensive packages might actually be cheap because they truly do provide all the services and features you need now, or will need soon.

Find out the real cost of the cheap website hosting. Count all the prices for each service. Don't forget to include all of the various setup fees along with monthly fees. Also find out what the provider will charge you to upgrade your service package in the future.

Making Website For Dummies

So you want to build a website here I will explain some simple but also key aspects that are commonly taken in to consideration when a website developer creates a website.

1) Website Design - The website design must be neat meaning that everything looks like where it is meant to be (nothing out of place or out of proportion). Also your sites design is related to the topic of your website e.g. your site is about flowers then your design must have flowers.

2) Site Navigation - Visitors must be able to get where they want to go without going through a maze a good way of putting it if you can get there in 3 clicks it should be fine. Also it helps when search engine spiders go through your site since it makes it easy for the spiders to index the site.

3) Domain Name - Domain name is important since it is one of the first thing that your visitors will see. The header repeats on all pages on the blog. By making sure that your header contains targeted keywords, you are able to get more of your blog pages indexed in search engines.

- Treat Each Blog Post As A Separate, Optimizable Page. Use the process of search engine optimization on each blog post. This means that you need to create an optimized title for each post, find targeted keywords for each post and weave the keywords into your post’s text.

- Make Sure That Each Blog Post’s File Name Are Descriptive. Different blogging software behaves differently, but some will call your blog posts 2.html, 3.html, 4.html, etc. As you can see, that is not very descriptive and not particularly helpful to either people or search engines. When you create a post called “How Coaching Helps Business Owners”, calling it “how-coaching-helps-business-owners.html” is a much better title than “5.html”

Make sure that your blogging software creates descriptive file names for your blog posts; it is better both for human readers and search engine spiders.

- Get Links Pointing To Your Blog. Quality links to your blog means more blog visitors and higher search engine rankings. Current search engine algorithms value links to your blog, which means that having links pointing to your blog will improve your blog’s search engine rankings.

- Get Your Blog Listed in Blog Directories. Blog directories are a great source of getting unidirectional links to your blog. Since blog directory links many times are unidirectional (they link to you, but you don’t link back to them), they are great for boosting your search engine rankings. Having many unidirectional links pointing to your web site will improve your search engine rankings.

A blog is an excellent marketing tool, but your blog will not attract more leads and clients for your business if you don’t use search engine optimization techniques to optimize your blog and attract targeted search engine traffic to it.

Proven Ways To Increase Your Website Traffic

One of the most difficult things for network marketers is to increase your targeted website traffic. There are many ways to do this including paid advertising which does work. If you are just beginning, you may not want to try this as you still need to test whether your lead capture pages and sales pages convert.

Many internet Marketers Fail Online Because they Do not Know How Or What To Do To create the targeted website Traffic Needed To Make Their Site Successful. This article discusses seven proven methods that will help you increase your targeted website traffic.

1. Article Marketing

A guaranteed way to increase your targeted website traffic is to write original and keyword optimized articles for your web visitors. Article marketing, as it is called, will bring you repeated targeted website traffic that already wants to know more about your products and services.

There are several ways you can promote your articles:

* submit them to major article directories such as ezinearticles.com,goarticles.com and article dashboard

* Use an article submission service such as isnare or article marketer

* Use a semi-automated article submitter such as Article submitter Pro or Instant Article Submitter

* Trade your articles directly with other webmasters.

2. Blogging

Frequently posting original useful content to a personal blog will also help you increase your targeted website traffic.

The articles you post on your blog can have links back to your other websites which are called back links. These back links help improve Page Rank in Google.

3. Classifieds

* Craigslist
* US Free Ads
* eBay

4. Linking

Not all links are created equal. There are many methods to get incoming links. First you should submit your site to all of the directories in your subject area. Second, look for similar, but non-competing sites that you can trade links with. Many sites have automatic linking software that will look for a backlink and then add you automatically. Linking with similar websites will also increase your targeted website traffic.

Other ways to increase your links include:

* Link Exchange Services (such as Link Vault or Link Metro)

* Purchase Links (from webmasters or a link broker)
* Lists
* Co-Registration Lists
* Joint Venture (other marketer’s email lists)
* Opt-in List (requires you to build your own list first…)
* Safe Lists

5. Advertising

* Ezine Advertising (advertise in various newsletters)
* Pay-Per-Click (such as Google, YPN, MSN Adcenter etc.)
* Offline Advertising (flyers, direct mail etc.)

6. Social Media

# Social Bookmarking

* Social Multi-Media Networks
* Podcasts (publish your own podcasts)
* YouTube
* Google Video

# Social Networks

* Squidoo
* MySpace
* AdlandPro
* Direct Matches

# Social Voting

* Digg
* Reddit
* Netscape

7. Forums

Forums are an excellent way to increase your targeted website traffic As you respond and start topics in forums, you become familiar and trusted. Never blatantly advertise your products. Most forums allow a signature which is a space under your posts where you can place links to your websites.

Consistently using these methods will help you increase your targeted website traffic. The internet marketer with the mostlinks and targeted website traffic wins.

Increase Website Traffic With Links To Your Website

The sole purpose for having your own website is for having people visit it. In order for people to know that your website exists, you must advertise to show the online community who you are, what you do and what you can do for them. Advertising your website to create more website traffic is possible by having a number of links to your website posted through other sites of similar interests. Nowadays having a top quality website is necessary for small businesses and promoting your website to increase the traffic can make or break you. After all, you do not create a website for it to just to sit there and have no one look at it. The purpose of having a website is for optimal viewing.

If you want to increase website traffic with links to your website, there are a few things you can do. Since most of the web traffic generally comes from directories and search engines such as Yahoo!, Google, Dog Pile, and Ask Jeeves, you can register your website with many of the most popular search engines to ensure you are web site is found in searches. Although some search engines can find your web site on their own, it is best to submit an eye catching, detailed listing yourself to increase your chances. The more directories and search engines you register your website to, the more your chances increase of traffic from the online community.

You can create a sign up list for those visitors who visit your web site and want to receive email newsletters about your site. Creating a mailing list for Internet newsletters is a great way to keep in touch with your web site visitors and to offer special promotions or send weekly or monthly news and updates. People like to be abreast of what is going on with your website and they like to receive special promotions that can drive them back to your website to make a purchase of products or services. When creating a sign up list, a visitor must request information sent to their email address, therefore avoiding the pitfalls of spam. No one likes spam emails; regardless of whether it is, a product that you think might interest them or not.

Message boards, chat rooms and other forums with subjects relating to your web site work as great ways to promote your site. Although you should never directly advertise on any of these forums, you can make your presence known and make yourself available to answer questions and build up your credibility. You can also include your signature file at the end of your posts. Using a signature file with all your contact information and a link to your website in every email and forum post is a great way to increase traffic to your website as well.

Everyone loves freebies. Promotional freebies can encourage traffic to your website that can be of considerable value. By offering freebies related to your target audience such as software, downloadable forms, consultation, newsletters, articles and other resources full of valuable information, you can draw people in. You may also consider a sweepstakes, where an entrant must sign up for the newsletter in order to enter into the sweepstakes.

Buying ad space on more successful websites in the same field as yours can also increase website traffic with links to your website. There are many websites with ad space available at affordable rates. You can also choose to place your ad within a search engine or directory, or even in a local newspaper or magazine for a slightly higher advertising price. You can have your website and contact information on personalized stationary to use with all your transactions made while you are not on the Internet as well. By using business cards, letterheads and envelopes, you can advertise your website while paying a bill.

There is a huge variety of ways to advertise and to increase the traffic to your website. Regardless of the field of interest, there are people out there surfing the Internet that will be interested in what you have to offer them. Creating the website was only the first step, now you must find your audience; do not expect them to find you. You must help guide them to you through advertisements and relentless promotion.

Getting A Lot Of Website Traffic

Anyone who owns a website knows the importance of website traffic. You may have a terrific idea for a website with an excellent product or service, superb design, content and functionality but if you do not use the right tactics, your site may not attract the all important highly targeted website traffic. Getting a lot of traffic into a site has very little to do with the site itself but with how the webmaster or site owner advertises it. With hundreds of competing sites, you must employ the most effective internet marketing techniques that will truly deliver results.

There are different internet marketing techniques that you can use. All these techniques and methods aim at increasing your website traffic. You must find a way for web surfers to find your site. To do this, you must put yourself in the shoes of your prospective visitors and future clients and see the internet through their eyes. Where do they usually go whenever they are looking up something on the web? The answer is the search engine; in fact, the two most popular websites on the web today are both search engines and portals. Thus, you should focus your internet marketing efforts on the search engine.

People will usually search for something using a search engine and click on the top results that these engines give. Therefore, you must use the right internet marketing techniques to get a high search engine ranking. To gain a high ranking in search results, you can use several internet marketing techniques. Search engine optimization is a set of methods that are aimed at improving the visibility of your site in search engine results. Since a search engine indexes sites by looking at its keyword density, your site’s content must have favorable keyword density that is search engine friendly. Content is one of the most important internet marketing technique itself. If you have excellent content that is geared towards achieving a high search engine ranking as well as provide information then you can expect a high search engine ranking. However, this is not as easy as it sounds. Countless other sites may be using the same internet marketing technique as you do. Thus, you must continuously find new ways of attracting more website traffic.

Aside from the traditional marketing techniques such as print ads, billboards, brochures, testimonials, flyers etc. you must use other more effective internet marketing techniques to gain more website traffic. One of the most popular internet marketing technique today is submitting articles. Writing and submitting articles is an extremely powerful method for promoting your websites, products, and services.

By writing short articles on the topic related to your website, you can offer these articles for other website owners or newsletter publishers to use by submitting them to an article directory.

These directories get spidered by the search engines on a regular basis because of the high value of the content they provide. If you have not yet been picked up by the search engines this is the easiest way to get them to find you. You also get exposure to those who look for articles in the directories for use on their sites.

When they make use of your articles on their websites or in their newsletters, you will get the credit as the author along with a link to your website. Not only will you gain visitors, but you will benefit from the hyperlinks that are created.

This internet marketing technique is now being used by thousands of site owners. It is also gaining popularity because of its relatively high success rate in attracting high website traffic.

Making Websites Without HTML Knowledge

You can make a website without HTML knowledge using a free software named Pagemason. Most people tend to give up and pack their bags as soon as they hear the word "programming" and "technical". They think it`s too much of a hassle to actually learn a whole computer "language". HTML, the most basic computer language in building websites, is actually pretty simple to understand, as long as we have the interest in learning new things.

What is HTML?

HTML is the acronym for Hyper Text Markup Language. For learning purposes, just think of it as a language that the computer understands. For example, as humans, we were taught different languages; i.e. HTML as a language, is mostly and specifically used to create a website. The web browser, such as Microsoft Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox, will then decipher and interpret the code or rather, language(HTML), and display it in a way we can understand it, just like in a basic webpage.

Coding

Coding the HTML language might be a bit tough for some people, so we can actually purchase programmes, such as Macromedia Dreamweaver, or even Microsoft Frontpage. These programmes are solely created to help individuals in designing professional webpages or websites.

Furthermore, one could also gain access to online web-builders, website builders that are inbuilt and can be directly controlled from the net. There are many different and specific builders online.

Books and magazines contain guides that can help in offering tutorials and ways to put up our own websites. Even online tutorials are credible, as in the modern world, information technology is the best and most cost efficient way in retaining knowledge, especially in this particular field.

So, you could start and build website right away. If you enjoy coding, it might even become a favourable past-time.

How To Make A Search-Engine Friendly Website

There is no point in building a website unless there are visitors coming in. A major source of traffic for most sites on the Internet is search engines like Google, Yahoo!, MSN, Altavista and so on. Hence, by designing a search engine friendly site, you will be able to rank easily in search engines and obtain more visitors.

Major search engines use programs called crawlers or robots to index websites to list on their search result pages. They follow links to a page, reads the content of the page and record it in their own database, pulling up the listing as people search for it.

If you want to make your site indexed easily, you should avoid using frames on your website. Frames will only confuse search engine robots and they might even abandon your site because of that. Moreover, frames make it difficult for users to bookmark a specific page on your site without using long, complicated scripts.

Do not present important information in Flash movies or in images. Search engine robots can only read text on your source code so if you present important words in Flash movies and images rather than textual form, your search engine ranking will be affected dramatically.

Use meta tags accordingly on each and every page of your site so that search engine robots know at first glance what that particular page is about and whether or not to index it. By using meta tags, you are making the search engine robot's job easier so they will crawl and index your site more frequently.

Stop using wrong HTML tags like to style your page. Use CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) instead because they are more effective and efficient. By using CSS, you can eliminate redundant HTML tags and make your pages much lighter and faster to load.

Why Is Sitemap Important In Your Website

A sitemap is often considered redundant in the process of building a website, and that is indeed the fact if you made a sitemap for the sake of having one. By highlighting the importance of having a well constructed sitemap, you will be able to tailor your own sitemap to suit your own needs.

1) Navigation purposes

A sitemap literally acts as a map of your site. If your visitors browses your site and gets lost between the thousands of pages on your site, they can always refer to your sitemap to see where they are, and navigate through your pages with the utmost ease.

2) Conveying your site's theme

When your visitors load up your sitemap, they will get the gist of your site within a very short amount of time. There is no need to get the "big picture" of your site by reading through each page, and by doing that you will be saving your visitors' time.

3) Site optimization purposes

When you create a sitemap, you are actually creating a single page which contains links to every single page on your site. Imagine what happens when search engine robots hit this page -- they will follow the links on the sitemap and naturally every single page of your site gets indexed by search engines! It is also for this purpose that a link to the sitemap has to be placed prominently on the front page of your website.

4) Organization and relevance

A sitemap enables you to have a complete bird's eye view of your site structure, and whenever you need to add new content or new sections, you will be able to take the existing hierarchy into consideration just by glancing at the sitemap. As a result, you will have a perfectly organized site with everything sorted according to their relevance.

From the above reasons, it is most important to implement a sitemap for website projects with a considerable size. Through this way, you will be able to keep your website easily accesible and neatly organized for everyone.

How To Make Your Website Profitable

My SEO firm has been spending a good deal of time analyzing conversion and usability aspects for our clients over the past year. While there are literally hundreds, if not thousands, of things that can be changed to help improve conversion rates, we've created a short list of things that are both quick and easy to change or add to your site. These are in no particular order.

1. Blue and underlined links
I almost made each of these their own item but decided to combine them into one because both can be fixed with a simple CSS change. Let's attack the underlining first. There are many ways to make your links stand out, you can bold them, italicize them, make them bigger or change color, etc. But none of these changes will intuitively let your visitors know they are looking at a link. That's why underlining your links is so important. Underlined text on a web page is the universal sign of a hyperlink to another page or area of the site. This is also why you should not underline any text other than links, it causes confusion! While most people want websites that stand out, there are still things that we all must do in order to ensure our audience isn't confused. In other words, we have to conform to what are typical web development practices. If we don't we lose our ability to communicate to our audience. Underlining links creates clarity making navigating from page to page easier for your audience. If it's underlined, they know it's a link.

As for the blue; again this goes back to perceptions. From the early days of the web all hyperlinks were blue by default. Only later did we begin to style the links in various colors to fit with our site themes. When visitors see blue underlined text, they instinctively know it's a clickable link. If your link is a different color they may not be so sure or may have to test it to be sure. What you want to accomplish is making your site's navigation as thought-free as possible. You want to drive the audience easily without making them think about how to get from page to page. Of these two rules the underlining is the most important. Because many sites have begun using CSS to change the colors of their links users are getting more used to links not always being blue. But if you can make them blue then do it. If you absolutely can't work in the color blue with your scheme, that's OK, but you absolutely need those links underlined.

2. Custom 404-redirect
Have you ever navigated to a site or were clicking links within a site and were brought to a white screen with black text telling you the page can't be found? What's your first response. For most, they would simply to move on and find another site to go to. You can
prevent many of those exits simply by customizing your 404 page. Take a look at this one here. Anyone getting a broken link on our site will remain on our site with all of our navigation options to choose from. Instead of bolting for the next site they will likely keep browsing the current site. The difference between a custom 404 page and the white page not found screen is like this: Say you're in a large store and you can't find a particular item. You find an employee to ask. The generic page-not-found employee would simply say "I'm not sure, sorry, I can't help you," and then returns to his business. T custom 404 employee would tell you "I know just where that is, follow me and I'll show you." It's a big difference. Broken links are (or should be) rare, but they do happen, especially coming from external sites. While you have full control over internal links (more on this later) with external links to your site you have little, or no, control over. This makes it even more important to implement a custom 404 page. This is your best option to not lose that traffic that comes from an old or outdated
link.

3. Links in body content
I once have a version of my site where almost 100% of my internal links were via the navigation panes. It's always smart to have good navigation in your site, but this should not be your only source of linking to important pages. In fact, your body content should be
littered with links to various pages of your site. If you talk about your team, link to your about us page. If you talk about your successes, link to your testimonials. If you talk about your services or specific products, link to them as well. The web is an interactive place and visitors want to click as they read something that interests them. If you rely solely on navigation links you are forcing your visitors to have to think about where they want to go next. Don't leave it up to them, tell them where they should go, give them various options, and provide the links so they can go there now.

4. Visible phone number
There are still a number of web users out there who prefer traditional forms of communication like the phone. While the web is interactive, it can often seem less personal. Especially if you don't know how long it will take for an email to get answered. When I want answers, I want them now. Placing your phone number visibly on your pages sends the message that you are available for your customers. They may not need to call you, but just knowing they can gives visitors that extra bit of confidence in your business.

5. Fix typos and grammatical errors
Nothing says amateur more than constant spelling and grammatical errors. Your words are a representation of who you are and how well your company will be able to fulfill the needs of your visitors. If your website has an overwhelming number of spelling and grammatical errors you're signaling to your visitors that you simply can't be bothered with the small things. But it's those small things that are so very important. Sales are won and lost on what is seemingly inconsequential. Spelling and grammar errors simply lack professionalism which supports credibility. Take the time to fix spelling errors and present a more professional appearance.

6. Fix broken links
We talked about using the 404 page to keep visitors on your site if they hit a bad link. While you can't always control external links to your site you should have 100% control of your site's internal links. Like spelling and grammar errors, broken links are simply unprofessional. Not only that, but what better way to force customers out the door than by clicking to a dead page? Run a regular broken link check on your site regularly especially if you regularly edit your site, add products, move pages, etc.

7. Show prices and shipping info
I can't stand sites that bury their pricing information. While the price isn't the only factor when making a decision to purchase it is a significant one. If your visitors can't find product or service prices easily enough they'll likely move on to another site that does display them. Pricing should be considered part of the specifications for the product or service. Its just one additional piece of information that helps users determine quality, affordability and whether what you have is right for them. People don't want to be kept in the dark or have to click to every product individually just to get this information. If you have a product category page showing pictures of what you offer, give the pricing as well, it helps them to find for the right item. In your product pages you also want to include shipping information. This is another sticking point for many and if they see that shipping is cheap enough (before they add the product to the cart) then that
can help you make the sale.

8. About us page
Not only do you need an about us page but you also need to fill it with good information. Telling about your company is good, but your visitors also want to know about the people involved in the company. Adding this information provides a personal touch and lets
people see the faces behind the screen. Use this space to let employees or managers to tell about their skills, experience and their interests. All of that plays a role in building confidence in your visitors. Giving potential customers the background of your team can ensure them that your team is capable of providing service or choosing the best quality products to sell. This reassurance is important.

9. Calls to action
Every page on your site needs to have at least one call to action. A call to action is simply a line of text or an image (and a link) that tells the visitors what they should do next. Typical calls to action are "Read more about...," "Add to cart," "Buy Now," "Read more testimonials," "See why we're #1, " "Sign up," etc. Calls to action should drive the visitor from page to page or from page to checkout, depending on the situation. Visitors like to be told what to do, as long as they have the choice to do it or not. Calls to action give them both.

10. Answer emails and phones
I am often surprised by how often I get told by prospective clients that I was the only company who followed up with an email or phone call. You would think being in business this would be a given, but it's not. Too many companies let their phone calls go to voice mail and don't return email messages in a timely manner. This is especially true with small businesses operating on the web. While these businesses are struggling to make ends meet they fail to realize that their inability to return messages or pick up the phone is one of the primary barriers to success. Even if success isn't a factor, many people are turned off by companies that simply don't get back to them or answer incoming calls. This is a negative impression that can easily be avoided.

How to View the Source Code For a Website

Webpages are created using code that tells your web browser what to display and how to display it. Unless you can do this, you can not wait to do a significant amount of money with affiliate marketing programs. So how do you increase sales? All things being equal, will have to increase your site traffic before you can experience more sales. By the law of averages, more people are aware of the products they are offering more products sold.

Here are some tips that can help you increase your site traffic:

1. Optimize for search engines. The most successful websites are the most visible. Now there are several ways to achieve greater visibility on the Internet, but the method is the search engine optimization. The details are too technical to discuss here, but the effects of search engine optimization (SEO) is to help your site achieve higher rankings in search engines. If you used a search engine, you will notice that any keyword search will return thousands, if not millions of results. Most people do not bother to browse through all the results, but will look for sites that already displayed. Statistically speaking, the sites listed on the first page of results to get as much traffic, putting the sites in a better position to make money.

2. Joining the Internet directories. While Internet directories are not as widely used as search engines, some people use them. It is important that we should not ignore the potential customers that these guidelines can make to your site. To join an online directory, you must submit your site for approval, and was ranked accordingly.

3. Give new content. Your site must be continually updated if you expect your visitors to return. Your site must have useful content and tools that will help your target audience. Make your site easy to navigate as possible and be sure your links work the way they should. There is nothing that frustrates people more than a "broken" website, and once your site has been labeled as such, it is unlikely that many people will want to return.

4. Build an online community. In other words, build relationships with potential customers. Make your visitors feel welcome and appreciated, and is likely to return. Being interested in solving their problems and that thanks to your business.
Make your affiliate marketing program is working really not much different from running a traditional business. The only way they can keep their customers is to treat well. The Japanese have a saying: The customer is God. If the treatment of its customers with respect and exert the effort to try to meet your needs, you will find to be more than willing to help you with yours.

Request Affiliate Marketing and Customer Service

As a webmaster, you are required to run into trouble. Although it has not spent a lot of time learning the affiliate marketing business, sooner or later running on some of the challenges that you need help to solve. Areas such as e-mail services, affiliate marketing software and online services are particularly problematic.

Unfortunately, getting help is often not easy, even your web host. But there are ways to make the process easier for both parties. Here are some questions you might consider before you call your service provider:

Who are you? This is a common problem. Many people report their problems, without providing personal information such as your username. Unless the support team know who you are, how do expect to solve your problem?

What is the problem? Be specific. Identify what product or service is not working properly. Note that only one of its web hosting customers. Unless you can find the problem, the chances are rather slim, it will receive adequate and timely assistance.

What software is used? Your site host team will need information about the software you are using. For example, ask what kind of system you are using on your computer. It is well known that certain applications do not work well in certain systems. Make sure all information on services or applications you use.

When did the problem start? Identify the time they became aware of the problem is important. If you have recently made some changes to your system and the problem appeared shortly after, it is likely that any change is the cause. Do not withhold information from the team, every bit of knowledge is crucial to identify the source of difficulty.

What have you tried to solve the problem? If you have tried to solve the problem yourself, be sure to include an account of his attempts in his report. Allow the team to know what you've done will help them save time and make a more accurate diagnosis of what is wrong.

Have you kept simple? For security reasons, some systems do not support HTML display. To prevent your e-mail intercepted, it is best to send messages in plain text format.

Remember to be polite. Note that the support team is composed of human beings - whether it is certainly not mistreat them. They never insult, never use profanity. If you want your problem to solve, it's best to maintain its peace and act civilly. Despite what you may think you are only one of its customers - reserve the right to discontinue services to those who always like it.

These indicators will not always prompt service you deserve, but it can help.
Affiliate marketing is a difficult enough business without making enemies. By taking a little time to see things from his team's point of view, you can dramatically improve the quality of service they receive.

Free Web Promotion

There's no more need for people to spend hundreds of pounds to have a web site designed and built. I think we should only have to pay around £ 100 for a standard or simple website built. The amount of competition in the internet web design sector means that there are some good deals available in the following paragraph I will explain where to look for these offers.

My advice on where to find these cheap web design is to search online auction sites like eBay, Internet search engines or the Yellow Pages. Ask friends and family and also looking at local and free press is also worth a go.

I imagine that most people who own a website are looking for ways to increase the amount of traffic to your website or an increase in their PR rating. In general, the upper range of the page that has the most visitors are likely to receive.

In my opinion the best way to increase this page rank is the creation by the number of back links your site has. You can do this by e-mail to other websites, preferably in the same business sector as your own and asking if they would be willing to exchange links with your site. This can be a tedious work but it might be worth your while in a program like linkmetro.

Writing articles is probably the best way of obtaining backward links, these links are more valuable because they are links in one direction. By submitting these articles to article websites, other webmasters are able to use your article on your website, which gives you a link. This is because you can add a link to your website in the section of biological resources or the author at the bottom of the page.

You may also want to consider a pay-per-click program like Google AdWords. This is where you pay for an ad that appears on the right side of search results. This would be under the domination of Google search engine for a given keyword. Always remember not to spend more on the publicity it can earn from the website.

If you would like to make extra money from your website you may want to consider google adsense. Here is where to put Google ads on your site. When your users click on ads you get paid.

Define link popularity of a website

Link popularity is a search engines algorithm. The way of search engines value link popularity of a website is by counting the number of external links that point to website.

Every link from other site to yours is a vote, and number play a big part on it. The greater the number is the more it's popularity in the eye of search engine.

Ilustration about link popularity in the real life.
If you need to buy a high quality and cheap dvd player, than you will need to ask some questions to some people about where to buy it. You might ask to your families, friends, neighbours etc.

If 70% of them ponting to ABC store, and 30 % pointing to XYZ store then you will go to the ABC first.

How to build link popularity.
Building link popularity is building links from other sites to yours. You can do it by listing your site on the web directories, giving comments on others blog, making dummy blogs or sites etc. And under every comments you make get your url on it using your key phrases.

It is important to use your keywords/phrases on your anchor text links.
Assume your site selling dvd's then you have to build link from other site using pharses "buy dvd's", "cheap dvd's" etc.

Please note : "dont use the same key phrase in every link you make and don't point every links to your home page" search engine might think you are spaming.

Get links from high PR sites
Page rank (PR) is a scale 1 to 10. It's determine how important a site is. The higher it is the more search engine trust it.

If you are asking where to buy cheap dvd player to a little kid and then asking the same question to an adult then you will follow the adult one.

The older site use to be has a higher the PR, site with more link popularity use to be has higher the PR.

Define website

A website is actually a collection of files and documents which is saved in a server (it's a specific computer that is connected to the internet all the time). But the here is the big question : Why should we build a website, what is the benefit? Yes .... we must know it, or else the website that we are going to build will be useless. Here are the some benefits of having a website :

Your website can give you extra income :

If you have some classified ads sites, you can get revenues from the sponsor that place their ads on your website, or if you have a good looking website you could join some affiliates programs to put their links or banner on your website, or you can try to join google adsense program so you can make money from contextual ads for your website.

Joel Comm is a successful person for joining google adsense. Through this program he can earn up to $ 500 for a day.

Website can help to grow your business :

If you have some kind of business, product or service, you can promote it by your website, so it will significantly grow your business or service nationally or even globally. It means, that you will expand more market and off course profits from your business or service with your website.

You can share your opinions, experiences & visions easily:

Just like this web site, it helps me to share a tiny little bit of my knowledge & my experiences with you, so I can help people to learn how to make a very easy free website and earn money even just with free website.

Increase website traffic

Ways to increase your website traffic

There is so many ways to increase website traffic. The criteria for choosing a free web host and a commercial web hosting solution are slightly different although they do overlap.

In many case below are the general criteria :
1. Make sure the host's server provides a sufficiently fast connection to the Internet. A T3 connection is optimal, but a T1 will work for most Web sites. A dial-up connection is usually much too slow.

2. Find out how many machines will be sharing the server with you. You don't want to be slowed down by traffic from other sites. Compare this number with other hosting services to give yourself negotiating room.

3. Investigate limits on bandwidth and hits. Make sure you won't be charged severely if a lot of traffic goes through your site. Look for reasonable flat monthly rates as opposed to rates based on use.

4. Find out what kind of customer support the host offers. Twenty-four hour support and speedy replies aren't unreasonable demands. Try to avoid paying for customer support.

5. Plan ahead when thinking about Web space. The amount of space you need depends on the nature of your site, but be sure to give your site room to grow.

6. Look for a company that offers virtual hosting. This will allow you to use your own domain name (www.yoursite.com) as your URL as opposed to a directory within the host's domain (www.host.com/yoursite). If you don't feel that you need your own domain name, save money and stick with the host's URL.

7. Make sure the host provides adequate CGI-bin access if you'll be using forms, and that the CGI bin can support your scripts. You should have your own CGI-bin directory with unlimited access.

8. Opt for Web-based administration if you're unfamiliar with Web programming. This will provide a Web-based interface for the maintenance of the site.

9. Look for a host that offers FTP and Telnet access to facilitate uploading files and editing CGI scripts.

10. Evaluate your e-mail needs. Some servers offer POP mailboxes, while others simply offer aliases that reroute mail to existing mailboxes. Some hosts put limits on the number of allowed aliases. Make sure you fully understand the host's e-mail services.

Choosing a Free Web Hosting
Below are the criteria for choosing a free web hosting :
1. Advertising
Most free web hosts impose advertising on your website. This is done to cover the costs of providing your site the free web space and associated services. Some hosts require you to place a banner on your pages, others display a window that pops up everytime a page on your site loads, while still others impose an advertising frame on your site. There is really no hard and fast rule which is to be preferred: some people hate a pop-up window, other webmasters dislike having to stuff banner codes onto their pages, and many people cannot stand an advertising frame (which may cause problems when you submit your website to search engines). Whichever method is used, check that you're comfortable with the method.

Note that free web hosts without forced advertisements aren't necessarily good news. Without a viable means to recover the costs of running their server, many of them close with alarming frequency.

2. Amount of web space
Does it have enough space for your needs? If you envisage that you will expand your site eventually, you might want to cater for future expansion. Most sites use less than 5MB of web space. Your needs will vary, depending on how many pictures your pages use, whether you need sound files, video clips, etc.

3. FTP access
Some free hosting providers only allow you to design your page with their online builder. While this is useful for beginners, do you have the option to expand later when you become experienced and their online page builder does not have the facility you need? FTP access, or at the very least, the ability to upload your pages by email or browser, is needed. Personally, I feel FTP access is mandatory, except for the most trivial site.

4. File type and size limitations
Watch out for these. Some free hosts impose a maximum size on each of the files you upload (including one with a low of 200KB). Other sites restrict the file types you can upload to HTML and GIF/JPG files. If your needs are different, eg, if you want to distribute your own programs on your pages, you will have to look elsewhere.

5. Reliability and speed of access
This is extremely important. A site that is frequently down will lose a lot of visitors. If someone finds your site on the search engine, and he tries to access it but find that it is down, he'll simply go down the list to find another site. Slow access is also very frustrating for visitors (and for you too, when you upload your site). How do you know if a host is reliable or fast? If you can't get feedback from anyone, one way is to try it out yourself over a period of time, both during peak as well as non-peak hours. After all, it is free, so you can always experiment with it.

6. Perl and PHP
This is not particularly crucial nowadays for a free web host, since there are so many free script hosting services available that provide counters, search engines, forms, polls, mailing lists, etc, without requiring you to dabble with Perl or PHP scripts.

However if you really want to do it yourself, with the minimum of advertising banners from these free providers, you will need either PHP or Perl access. Note that it is not enough to know they provide PHP or Perl access: you need to know the kind of environment your scripts run under: is it so restrictive that they are of no earthly use? For PHP scripts, does your web host allow you to use the mail() function? For Perl scripts, do you have access to sendmail or its workalike?

7. Bandwidth allotment
Nowadays, many free web hosts impose a limit on the amount of traffic your website can use per day and per month. This means that if the pages (and graphic images) on your site is loaded by visitors beyond a certain number of times per day (or per month), the web host will disable your web site (or perhaps send you a bill). It is difficult to recommend a specific minimum amount of bandwidth, since it depends on how you design your site, your target audience, and the number of visitors you're able to attract to your site. In general, 100MB traffic per month is too little for anything other than your personal home page and 1-3GB traffic per month is usually adequate for a simple site just starting out. Your mileage, however, will vary. If you prefer a free webhosting service you can sign up here

Choosing commercial web hosting
Below are the criteria to choose commercial web hosting:
1. Reliability and speed of access
Not only should the web host be reliable and fast, it should guarantee its uptime (the time when it is functional). Look for a minimum uptime of 99%. In fact, even 99% is actually too low - it really should be 99.5% or higher. The host should provide some sort of refund (eg prorated refund or discount) if it falls below that figure. Note though that guarantees are often hard to enforce from your end - the host usually requires all sorts of documentation. However, without that guarantee, the web host will have little incentive to ensure that its servers are running all the time.

2. Data Transfer (Traffic/Bandwidth)
Data transfer (sometimes loosely referred to as "traffic" or "bandwidth") is the amount of bytes transferred from your site to visitors when they browse your site.

Don't believe any commercial web host that advertises "unlimited bandwidth". The host has to pay for the bandwidth, and if you consume a lot of it, they will not silently bear your costs. Many high bandwidth websites have found this out the hard way when they suddenly receive an exhorbitant bill for having "exceeded" the "unlimited bandwidth". Always look for details on how much traffic the package allows. I personally always stay clear of any host that advertises "unlimited transfer", even if the exact amount is specified somewhere else (sometimes buried in their policy statements). Usually you will find that they redefine "unlimited" to be limited in some way.

In addition, while bandwidth provided is something you should always check, do not be unduly swayed by promises of incredibly huge amounts of bandwidth. Chances are that your website will never be able to use that amount because it will hit other limits, namely resource limits. For more details, see the article The Fine Print in Web Hosting: Resource Usage Limits.

To give you a rough idea of the typical traffic requirements of a website, most new sites that are not software archives or the like use less than 3 GB of bandwidth per month. Your traffic requirements will grow over time, as your site becomes more well-known (and well-linked), so you will need to also check their policy for overages: is there a published charge per GB over the allowed bandwidth? Is the charge made according to actual usage or are you expected to pre-pay for a potential overage? It is better not to go for hosts that expect you to prepay for overages, since it is very hard to forsee when your site will exceed its bandwidth and by how much.

3. Disk space
For the same reason as bandwidth, watch out also for those "unlimited disk space" schemes. Most sites need less than 10 MB of web space, so even if you are provided with a host that tempts you with 200 MB or 500 MB (or "unlimited space"), be aware that you are unlikely to use that space, so don't let the 500 MB space be too big a factor in your consideration when comparing with other web hosts. The hosting company is also aware of that, which is why they feel free to offer you that as a means of enticing you to host there.

4. Technical support
Does its technical support function 24 hours a day, 7 days a week (often abbreviated 24/7), all year around? Note that I will not accept a host which does not have staff working on weekends or public holidays. You will be surprised at how often things go wrong at the most inconvenient of times. Incidentally, just because a host advertises that it has 24/7 support does not necessarily mean that it really has that kind of support. Test them out by emailing at midnight and on Saturday nights, Sunday mornings, etc. Check out how long they take to respond. Besides speed of responses, check to see if they are technically competent. You wouldn't want to sign up for a host that is run by a bunch of salesmen who only know how to sell and not fix problems.

5. FTP, PHP, Perl, SSI, .htaccess, telnet, SSH, MySQL, crontabs
If you are paying for a site, you really should make sure you have all of these.
Note that some commercial hosts do not allow you to install PHP or Perl scripts ("What is PHP and Perl?") without their approval. This is not desirable since it means that you have to wait for them before you can implement a feature on your site. ".htaccess" is needed if you are to do things like customize your error pages (pages that display when, say, a user requests for a non-existent page on your site) or to protect your site in various ways (such as to prevent bandwidth theft and hotlinking, etc).

Telnet or SSH access is useful for certain things, including testing certain scripts (programs), maintaining databases, etc. MySQL is needed if you want to run a blog or a content management system. Cron is a type of program scheduler that lets you run programs at certain times of the day (eg, once a day). Check to see if these facilities are provided.

6. SSL (secure server), Shopping Cart
If you are planning on doing any sort of business through your website, you might want to look out to see if the host provides these facilities. These facilities normally involve a higher priced package or additional charges. The main thing is to check to see if they are available at all before you commit to the host. You will definitely need SSL if you want to collect credit card payments on your site.

7. Email, Autoresponders, POP3, Mail Forwarding
If you have your own site, you would probably want to have email addresses at your own domain, like sales@yourdomain.com, etc. Does the host provide this with the package? Does it allow you to have a catch-all email account that causes any email address at your domain to be routed to you? Can you set an email address to automatically reply to the sender with a preset message (called an autoresponder)? Can you retrieve your mail with your email software? Can it be automatically forwarded to your current email address?

8. Control Panel
This is called various names by different hosts, but essentially, they all allow you to manage different aspects of your web account yourself. Typically, and at the very minimum, it should allow you to do things like add, delete, and manage your email addresses, and change passwords for your account. I would not go for a host where I have to go through their technical support each time I want to change a password or add/delete an email account. Such chores are common maintenance chores that every webmaster performs time and time again, and it would be a great hassle if you had to wait for their technical support to make the changes for you.

9. Multiple Domain Hosting and Subdomains
For those who are thinking of selling web space or having multiple domains or subdomains hosted in your account, you should look to see if they provide this, and the amount extra that they charge for this (whether it is a one-time or monthly charge, etc).

10. Server
Is the type of operating system and server important? Whether you think so or not on the theoretical level, there are a few practical reasons for looking out for the type of server.

In general, if you want to use things like write/use ASP programs, you have no choice but to look for a Windows server.

Otherwise my preference is to sign up for accounts using the often cheaper, more stable and feature-laden Unix systems running the Apache server. In fact, if dynamically generated pages that can access databases (etc) is what you want, you can always use the more portable (and popular) PHP instead of tying yourself down to ASP. Another reason to prefer Unix-based web hosts (which include web hosts using systems like Linux, FreeBSD, OpenBSD, Solaris, etc) using the Apache web server is that these servers allow you to configure a lot of facilities that you typically need on your site (error pages, protecting your images, blocking email harvesters, blocking IP addresses, etc) without having to ask your web host to implement them.

11. Price
I was actually hesitant to list this, but I guess it's futile not to. However, I would caution that while price is always a factor, you should realise that you often get what you pay for, although it's not necessarily true that the most expensive hosts are the best.

12. Monthly/Quarterly/Annual Payment Plans
Most web hosts allow you to select an annual payment plan that gives you a cheaper rate than if you were to pay monthly. My current personal preference is to pay monthly with all new web hosts until I'm assured of their reliability and honesty. Paying monthly allows me to switch web hosts quickly when I find that the current host does not meet my requirements: this way, I'm not tied down to a bad web host because I have prepaid for an entire year. I do this even if the new web host guarantees that they will refund the balance if I'm dissatisfied, since at the point I sign up, I have no assurance that they will honour their guarantee. Later (usually after many months or even more than a year), when I'm satisfied with the host, I often change payment plans to the discounted annual plans.

13. Resellers?
Not all hosting companies own or lease their own web servers. Some of them are actually resellers for some other hosting company. The disadvantage of using a reseller is the possibility that you are dealing with people who don't know much about the system they are selling and who take longer to help you (they have to transmit your technical support request to the actual hosting company for it to be acted upon). However, this also depends on both the reseller and the underlying hosting company. It is thus wise not to rule out all resellers; there are a number of reliable and fast ones who are actually quite good and cheap. In fact, a number of resellers sell the same packages cheaper than their original hosting company. If you find out that a particular company is a reseller, you will need to investigate both the reseller and the real hosting company.

14. International
If you don't stay in the USA, you have the option of hosting your site with some local provider. The advantage here is the ease of dealing with them (they are after all easily accessible by phone call or a visit), your familiarity with the local laws and easy recourse to those laws should it be necessary. It should be your choice if your target audience is local (eg a local fast food delivery service). On the other hand, hosting it in USA has the advantage of faster access for what is probably the largest number of your overseas visitors (particularly if you have an English-speaking audience). You also have a large number of hosting companies to choose from, and as a result, cheaper prices too.

15. Others' Reviews
You should make it a point to check out what others have to say about the web host.
Don't skip this step, or you might find yourself being suckered by a host that everyone else is steering clear of.

16. If you prefer a paid hosting service, then I recommend vodahost or another dedicated web hosting servers.

The Myth of the Perfect Commercial Host

In general, I doubt that there are any "perfect" web hosting companies around. Note that even if you are prepared to pay a huge price for your hosting needs, it does not guarantee that your host is any good. This is an interesting industry where a high price does not necessarily yield quality hosting and support.

On the other hand, one thing you can probably be sure of is that you will not get top-notched support if you only pay (say) $5 a month. At that price, which company can afford to hire enough good help to cater to all its users?

Like me, you'll probably end up settling for a trade-off between price, reliability and features that you're willing to live with. How to create your own website

Setting Up a Hosting Account

Setting Up a Hosting Account for Your Web Site
To host a Web site on the server:

1. Go to Home > Domains group title menu > Create Domain.
2. Select the user account to which the site will belong (click an option button to the left of the user name).
3. Click Next >>.
4. In the Domain name field, leave the WWW box selected, and type your domain name example.com. Having the www alias preceding a domain name will allow users to get to the site no matter what they type in their browsers: www.example.com and example.com will both point to the same site.
5. From the Assign IP address menu, select the required IP address. You should select a dedicated IP address (not shared among other sites), or, in terms of Parallels Plesk Panel, exclusive IP address to be able to install an authentic digital SSL certificate for securing customers' communications to your hosting server.
6. In the Use domain template settings menu, select the template you created, or leave the default domain value selected if you did not create custom templates. To facilitate setup of new Web sites, the control panel uses settings inherited from domain templates. After your Web site is set up, you can replace the default settings with other settings.
7. Under Switch on service, leave the Mail and DNS check boxes selected if e-mail accounts and DNS zones will be served by the mail and DNS services running on this server.
8. Under Hosting type, select the Web site hosting option to host the Web site on this machine.

Upon completion of this procedure, your control panel will set up the domain name server on this machine to serve the new domain name and prepare the Web server to serve the new Web site: a new zone file with appropriate resource records will be added to the Domain Name Server's configuration files, a Web space will be created inside the Web server's directory, and necessary user accounts will be created on the server.

Note: If the site is hosted on another machine, and you wish to set up your control panel's DNS server only to serve the DNS zone for that site, select either Frame forwarding or Standard forwarding option. With standard forwarding, a user is redirected to the site and the actual site's URL is shown in the user's browser, so the user always knows that he or she is redirected to another URL. With frame forwarding, a user is redirected to the site without knowing that the site actually resides at another location. For example: your customer has a free personal web site with his or her Internet Service Provider or a free Web host, and the Web site address is http://www.geocities.com/~myhomepage. The customer purchased a second level domain name www.myname.com and wants you to provide domain forwarding to his Web site. In this case you would normally choose the Frame forwarding service. For more information, refer to the Parallels Plesk Panel 9 Administrator's Guide, section Serving Domain Names for Sites Hosted on Other Servers (Domain Forwarding).

9. Type in the username and password that will be used for uploading Web site content over FTP and Microsoft FrontPage.
10. Select the Configure advanced Web hosting settings check box and click Next >>.
11. Specify the following settings:

* SSL support. Secure Sockets Layer encryption is generally used for protecting transfer of sensitive data during online transactions on e-commerce Web sites that run on dedicated IP addresses. SSL certificates that participate in the encryption process are usually applied to a single domain name on a single IP address, therefore, each site that needs SSL protection must be hosted on a dedicated IP address. An exception to this is subdomains, which you can protect with a wildcard certificate. Installing an SSL certificate on a Web server that hosts several Web sites with different domain names on a single IP address (shared or name-based hosting) is technically possible, however, it is not recommended: the encryption will be provided, but users will get warning messages on attempt to connect to the secure site. To allow SSL encryption for Web sites, select the SSL support check box.
* Use a single directory for housing SSL and non-SSL content (available only for Linux hosting). By default, when users publish their sites through their FTP accounts, they need to upload the web content that should be accessible via secure connections to the httpsdocs directory, and the content that should be accessible via plain HTTP, to the httpdocs directory. For the convenience of publishing all content through a single location – httpdocs directory, select the Use a single directory for housing SSL and non-SSL content check box.
* Hard disk quota (available only for Linux hosting). Specify the amount of disk space in megabytes allocated to the Web space for this site. This is the so-called hard quota that will not allow writing more files to the Web space when the limit is reached. At attempt to write files, users will get the "Out of disk space" error. Hard quotas should be enabled in the server's operating system, so if you see the "Hard disk quota is not supported" notice to the right of the Hard disk quota field, but would like to use the hard quotas, log in to the server shell and run the command quotaon -a.
* Access to the server over SSH or Remote Desktop with FTP user's credentials. This allows a site owner to upload securely Web content to the server through a Secure Socket Shell or Remote Desktop connection, however, allowing access to the server also poses a potential threat to the server security, so we recommend that you set this option to Forbidden.
* Create and publish Web site using Sitebuilder. This allows a site owner to create and manage his or her Web site using the Sitebuilder program installed on your server.
* Microsoft FrontPage support. Microsoft FrontPage is a popular Web site authoring tool. To enable users to publish and modify their sites through Microsoft FrontPage, select the options Microsoft FrontPage support, Microsoft FrontPage over SSL support, and Remote FrontPage authoring allowed.
* Support for hosting services and scripting languages. Specify which of the following programming and scripting languages should be supported by the Web server: Active Server Pages (ASP), Server Side Includes (SSI), PHP hypertext preprocessor (PHP), Common Gateway Interface (CGI), Fast Common Gateway Interface (FastCGI), Perl, Python, ColdFusion, and Miva scripting required for running Miva e-commerce solutions. By default, PHP is configured to operate in safe mode with functional restrictions. To learn more about PHP safe mode, refer to http://php.net/features.safe-mode. Some web applications may not work properly with safe mode enabled: If an application on your site fails due to safe mode, switch the safe mode off by clearing the PHP 'safe_mode' on check box in the hosting account properties (Domains > domain name > Web Hosting Settings).
* Web statistics. To allow the Web site owner to view the information on the number of people visited his or her site and the pages of the site they viewed, select the statistics program from the Web statistics menu, and select the accessible via password protected directory /plesk-stat/webstat check box. This will install the statistics software of your choice, which will generate reports and place them into the password protected directory. The domain/web site owner will then be able to access Web statistics at the URL: https://your-domain.com/plesk-stat/webstat using his or her FTP account login and password.

Note: When you switch from one statistics program to another, all reports created by the previously used statistics program are deleted and new reports are created in accordance with the information read from log files kept on the server. This means that if you configured the system (at Domains > domain name > Log Manager > Log Rotation) so as to keep log files only for the last month, then Web statistics will be available only for the last month.
* Custom error documents. When visitors coming to a site request pages that the Web server cannot find, the Web server generates and displays a standard HTML page with an error message. If you wish to create your own error pages and use them on your Web server or allow your customers to do that, select the Custom error documents check box.
* Additional write/modify permissions (available only for Windows hosting). This option is required if Web applications under a domain will be using a file-based database (like Jet) located in the root of httpdocs or httpsdocs folders. Please note that selecting this option might seriously compromise the Web site security.
* Use dedicated IIS application pool (available only for Windows hosting). This option enables the use of dedicated IIS application pool for Web applications on a domain. Using dedicated IIS application pool dramatically improves the stability of domain Web applications due to worker process isolation mode. This mode gives each Web site hosted on the server the possibility to allocate a separate process pool for execution of its Web applications. This way, malfunction in one application will not cause stopping of all the others. This is especially useful when you are using shared hosting package.
12. Click Next >>.
13. Specify the following settings:
* Overuse policy. Specify what should be done to the site when disk space and traffic limits are exceeded: To block the site, select the Overuse is not allowed option. To allow the site to operate, select the Overuse is allowed option.
* Maximum number of subdomains. Specify the number of subdomains that can be hosted under this domain.
* Maximum number of domain aliases. Specify the total number of additional alternative domain names that the site owner will be able to use for his or her Web site.
* Disk space. Specify the total amount of disk space allocated to a hosting account associated with the domain. This amount is measured in megabytes. It includes disk space occupied by all files related to the domain/Web site: Web site contents, databases, applications, mailboxes, log files and backup files.
* Maximum amount of traffic. Specify the amount of data in megabytes that can be transferred from the Web site during a month.
* Maximum number of Web users. Specify the number of personal Web pages that the domain owner can host for other users under his or her domain. This service is mostly used in educational institutions that host non-commercial personal pages of their students and staff. These pages usually have web addresses like http://your-domain.com/~username. If you wish to allow execution of scripts embedded in personal Web pages, select also the Allow the web users scripting check box. See the Hosting Personal Web Pages section for details.
* Maximum number of MySQL databases. Specify the number of databases that can be hosted in a domain.
* Maximum number of mailboxes. Specify the number of mailboxes that can be hosted in a domain.
* Mailbox quota. Specify the amount of disk space in kilobytes that is allocated for storing e-mail messages and autoresponder attachment files to each mailbox in a domain.
* Maximum number of mail forwarders. Specify the number of mail forwarders that can be used in a domain.
* Maximum number of mail autoresponders. Specify the number of automatic responses that can be set up in a domain.
* Maximum number of mailing lists. Specify the number of mailing lists that the domain owner can run in a domain. The mailing lists are served by the GNU Mailman software, which may or may not be installed on the server. If it is not installed and your customers would like to use it, you may want to to install it. To allow the use of mailing lists, you should also put a check mark into the Mailing lists check box under the Preferences group.
* Maximum number of Java applications. Specify the maximum number of Java applications or applets that the domain owner can install under a domain.
* MySQL databases quota and Microsoft SQL databases quota. Specify the maximum disk space amount in megabytes that MySQL and Microsoft SQL Server databases respectively can occupy under a domain.
* Maximum number of additional Microsoft FrontPage accounts (only for Windows hosting). Specify the maximum number of additional Microsoft FrontPage accounts that can be created under a domain.
* Maximum number of MySQL databases and Maximum number of Microsoft SQL server databases. Specify the maximum number of MySQL and Microsoft SQL Server databases that can be hosted under a domain.
* Maximum number of additional FTP accounts (available only for Windows hosting). Specify the maximum number of additional FTP accounts that can be created under a domain.
* Maximum number of shared SSL links (available only for Windows hosting). Specify the total number of shared SSL links that can be used under a domain.
* Maximum number of ODBC connections (available only for Windows hosting). Specify the total number of ODBC connections that can be used under a domain.
* Maximum number of ColdFusion DSN connections (available only for Windows hosting). Specify the total number of ColdFusion DSN connections that can be used under a domain.
* Expiration date. Specify the term for a hosting account. At the end of the term, the domain (Web site) will be suspended, its Web, FTP and mail services will no longer be accessible to the Internet users, and domain owner will not be able to log in to the control panel. Hosting accounts cannot be automatically renewed, therefore, in order to bring the hosted domain name/web site back to operation, you will need to manually renew the hosting account: click the Domains shortcut in the navigation pane, click the domain name your need, click the Resource Usage icon, specify another term, click OK, then click the Unsuspend icon (Domains > domain name > Unsuspend).
14. Click Finish.

Now your server is ready to accommodate the new Web site, and the site owner can publish the site to the server. For instructions on publishing a Web site, refer to the Publishing a Site section of this guide.

Note: If you transferred this domain name from another Web host, you will need to update the host DNS address with the domain name registrar so as to point to your name servers: log in to your registrar's web site, locate the forms used to manage the domain host pointers, and replace the current DNS host settings with your name servers' host names. The information on new name servers will spread across the DNS system within 48 hours.

If you have registered several domain names that you would like to point to a site hosted on this server, you should set up domain aliases. For more information, refer to the Parallels Plesk Panel 9 Administrator's Guide, section Setting Up Additional Domain Names for a Site (Domain Aliases).

If you need to host several domains on your machine that will point to a site hosted on another server, you should set up domain forwarding. For more information, refer to the Parallels Plesk Panel 9 Administrator's Guide, section Serving Domain Names for Sites Hosted on Other Servers (Domain Forwarding). How to create your own website

Domain name registration

What is a domain name ?
Domain name is a name that identifies one or more IP addresses. For example, the domain name microsoft.com represents about a dozen IP addresses. Domain names are used in URLs to identify particular Web pages. For example, in the URL http://www.example.com/index.html, the domain name is example.com.

Every domain name has a suffix that indicates which top level domain (TLD) it belongs to. There are only a limited number of such domains. For example:
# gov - Government agencies
# edu - Educational institutions
# org - Organizations (nonprofit)
# mil - Military
# com - commercial business
# net - Network organizations
# ca - Canada
# th - Thailand

Because the Internet is based on IP addresses, not domain names, every Web server requires a Domain Name System (DNS) server to translate domain names into IP addresses.

Web server
A web server is a computer that delivers (serves up) Web pages. Every Web server has an IP address and possibly a domain name. For example, if you enter the URL http://www.pcwebopedia.com/index.html in your browser, this sends a request to the server whose domain name is pcwebopedia.com. The server then fetches the page named index.html and sends it to your browser.

DNS
DNS is a short for Domain Name System (or Service or Server), an Internet service that translates domain names into IP addresses. Because domain names are alphabetic, they're easier to remember. The Internet however, is really based on IP addresses. Every time you use a domain name, therefore, a DNS service must translate the name into the corresponding IP address. For example, the domain name www.example.com might translate to 192.195.232.4.

Domain name registration
The only way to register and start using a domain name is to use the services of a domain name registrar. The domain name industry is regulated and overseen by ICANN, the organization that is responsible for certifying companies as domain name registrars. At one time there was only one domain name registrar - Network Solutions, Inc. - but today there are dozens of accredited registrars. Only a domain name registrar is permitted to access and modify the master database of domain names maintained by InterNIC. The master database contains the documentation on all of the domain names registered to date. InterNIC provides a list of accredited domain name registrars here.

If you come across a registrar that is not on the list it is most likely that the organization is acting as a reseller for one of the accredited registrars as only an accredited registrar has the ability to modify the database of domain names.

ICANN-accredited registrars have the authority to assign domain names for the TLDs of .com, .biz. .info, .name, .net, and .org. ICANN does not, however, specifically accredit registrars to provide registration services for country code TLDs.

The registrar you choose will determine the cost for registering a domain name, but in general expect to pay a yearly fee. Some registrars will offer discounts if you register for more than one year, but no registrar has the authority to sell more than a 10-year registration contract for any domain name. The registrar will ask you to provide some contact and technical information to have on record. This information is stored in a registry, which other computers can access to find information on your site. While it may seem like a privacy issue, it is best to be honest when supplying the contact information to a registrar. The registrar can cancel a contract and resell the domain name if it cannot contact an actual person to settle legal issues that may arise.

There are many laws that regulate the registration of domain names, such as registering a copyrighted name or registering a domain name for the sole purpose of blocking someone else from using it. Check with your domain name registrar for the laws that affect how you register your domain name.

If you want to create a domain name and are not sure if it has already been taken, you can check a whois server that keeps track of all the registered domain names.

Whois is an Internet utility that returns information about a domain name or IP address. For example, if you enter a domain name such as microsoft.com, whois will return the name and address of the domain's owner (in this case, Microsoft Corporation).

If you want to have your own domain name for free such as www.yoursite.co.cc register and get free domain here. This is the best free domain registrar incase you want to make a free website without having your hosting company name on your url address e.g. www.yoursite.000webhost.com. It is very important to make your url short and easy to remember by your visitors / costumers.
How to create your own website

Using html codes for your website

Headings
HTML has six levels of headings, numbered 1 through 6, with 1 being the largest.

Headings are displayed in larger, or smaller fonts, and usually bolder. To do this, you can use a simple HTML command. This is one of the few
commands that you don't have to put an ending command on. Let's say that you
wanted to say "Hello, how are you?", but with each word on a separate
line. All you have to type is:

Hello,
how
are
you?

The outcome is:

Hello,

how

are

you?

Horizontal Rules

<spacer size="32" type="horizontal">
Every now and then, you might want to have a horizontal rule, or line in your
page. Horizontal rules can be many different sizes and lengths. You can also
have the line be solid black, by typing NOSHADE. Here are several examples of
sizes and widths, and what the outcome is:

How to make money with a website

How to create your own website

Upload website templates to the web hosting

Before you upload your templates, you must login into your account.
